Obituary for Marilyn G. Kamaris (Nelson)

Marilyn G. Kamaris, 85, formerly of Manasquan, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018, at Chelsea at Tinton Falls, surrounded by loved ones.
Mrs. Kamaris (nee Nelson) was born in Neptune and raised in Manasquan. After raising her family in Manasquan, she and her husband retired to Archer, Fl. After his death, she returned to New Jersey, living in Point Pleasant Beach before moving to Chelsea in 2013. In earlier years, Mrs. Kamaris was a waitress, at Pat’s Diner in Belmar, and at Ken’s Landing in Point Pleasant Beach, where she met her future husband. She loved antiques and travel and was an avid doll collector. Above all else, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Kamaris was predeceased by her beloved husband, A.G. “Harry” Kamaris, in 2002, by her siblings, Elaine Doran, and Kenneth and Ernest Nelson, and by her son-in-law, Pete Bass. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Robert and Angela Blake, of Indianapolis, Patricia Blake, of Wall, Kim and Kathleen Kamaris, of Brielle, Kathleen and Harry Eichhorn, of Sea Girt, and Nelson Kamaris, of Brick. Also surviving Mrs. Kamaris are her 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, her sister, Vera Fisher, of N.C., her aunt, Alma Falkenburg, nephews and nieces, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Friday, April 20, 2018, from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. The service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, at 10 A.M., followed by burial at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mrs. Kamaris may be made to Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, at www.tunnel2towers.org.
