Geraldine J. Plant, 75, of Brick passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Ocean Medical Center in Brick. Ms. Plant retired in 2003 from the Atlantic Highlands Board of Education System where she taught 2nd through 6th grades for many years. She was a proud member of the NJEA, NEA and the AAUW. Ms. Plant was a graduate of Jersey City State College with a bachelor degree in Elementary Education and received her master’s degree in education from Monmouth University.
Born in Jersey City she grew up in Union City and lived in the Atlantic Highlands for many years before moving to Brick 9 years ago.
She was predeceased by her parents, Howard and Anna Plant. Surviving are her 3 sisters, Carol Skudera, of Morganville, Dallas Casuccio and her late husband, Anthony of Brick, and Joyce Talente and her husband, Vincent of Jackson; uncle, William Dill of Ewing; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visiting will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be held on Friday 10am in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Donations may be made in her name to the St. Jude Children’s Research Foundation.
