Obituary for Kathleen Mathis (Flanagan)

Kathleen M. Mathis (Flanagan), 85, of Brick passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at her home. She was born on August 8, 1932 and raised in Newark, worked at NJ Bell where she met her husband of 60 years, the late Kenneth Mathis. Kathleen was a loving and nurturing wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She resided in Hasbrouck Heights for many years before moving to Brick in 1983. She was a member of the Corpus Christi Rosary Society as well as the Point Pleasant Elks #1498.
Kathleen was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Margaret Flanagan; and by her brothers, Robert and Edward Flanagan.
Surviving are her adult children, Kenneth Mathis and his wife, Deborah, Gregory Mathis and his wife, Gina, Margaret “Peggy” Tattoli and her husband, Frank; grandchildren, Jennifer and Jillian Tattoli, Bruce Buckman, Rose Mathis, Jesse Buckman, Brielle Bratcher, Kyle Mathis, Brett Buckman, Jennifer Capellini and Joseph Cahill; several great grandchildren and three nephews.
Visiting will be on Wednesday from 4-8pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass will be offered on Thursday 9:30am at the Church of St. Martha, Point Pleasant. Entombment will follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery, Wall. Donations may be made in her name to Grace Hospice.
