Patrick R. Andrews, 73, of Annapolis, Md. and Spring Lake, NJ passed away on May 5th, 2018 at Sunrise Assisted Living, Wall, N.J. Patrick was born in Kittery, Maine. As his father was a U.S. Naval Officer, the Andrews family moved frequently during Patrick’s childhood. He attended the Maryknoll School in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Annapolis, after which he served in the Navy from 1963 to 1965. He then graduated from Quincy College, in Illinois, before embarking on a career in the beverage industry. He was an executive with Miller Brewing in Washington, D.C., before founding The Citrus Group, based in Virginia Beach, in 1986. His company specialized in supplying fruit juice to the Navy with offices in San Diego, CA, Mayport, FL, Bremerton, WA as well as Virginia Beach. He retired in 2015. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, in Annapolis. He enjoyed traveling the world and cruising with his brother-in-law Bob Donahue and his wife Mary Anne. The family is deeply grateful for the love and care provided to Patrick by Mary Anne Donahue during his illness. Patrick was predeceased by his parents, Jean and Frank Arland Andrews, (Capt. USN, Ret.). He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Joan (nee Applegate). Also surviving are his children and their spouses, Jennifer and Joseph Jordan, M.D., of London, England, and Alexander and Casey Andrews, of Stanhope, N.J. He was the beloved grandfather of Patrick and Anna Jordan. Also surviving are Patrick’s step mother Maxine Andrews, his siblings, Jeff Andrews, Fr. Philip Andrews, CSSR, Jean Andrews Phelan, James Andrews, Mary Gunther, Thomas Andrews, Frank Andrews, Theresa Andrews, Daniel Andrews, Timothy Andrews, and Susan Andrews, as well as in-laws, many cousins in the Flynn and Neenan families, nephews, nieces and dear friends. As per Patrick’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catharine’s Church, Spring Lake, N.J., on Friday, May 11, 2018 , at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Patrick’s memory may be made to the Maryknoll School in Honolulu, Hawaii at maryknollschool.org. Funeral arrangements are under the care of the O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall, Township, NJ. Condolences may be sent to the Andrews family via www.obrienfuneralhome.com.
