Obituary for Selma Abicca (Lind )
Selma Abicca, age 80, passed away on Friday, May 18, 2018 at her home in Brick. Born and raised in Hoboken, Selma lived in Bloomingdale, NJ for 25 years. She moved to Monmouth County and resided in Brick for the past 20 years.
Selma graduated from Demarest High School in Hoboken. She was employed as a bookkeeper for several years. She went on to proudly raise her four children. Selma was beloved by family and relatives for hosting holiday gatherings. She enjoyed playing cards and traveling but most of all loved spending time with all of her grandchildren.
Selma was a Communicant of St. Martha’s RC Church in Point Pleasant. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph A. Abicca in 2015.
Surviving are her children; Joseph Abicca and his wife Kathy Ann, Anthony Abicca and his wife Renny, Kathryn West and her husband Mike and Joanne Richardson and her husband Ross; her brother Harold Lind and his wife Marie and her seven grandchildren, Joey, Kristen, Slater, Kristina, Michael, Annie and Gretchen.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd., Brick. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 31st at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martha’s RC Church, Point Pleasant followed by the entombment at St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Sea Girt.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Team Joey at JoeyA.org.
