Marie Ida Cox, 89 of Wall died Friday, June 15, 2018 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Born and raised in Newark, NJ, Marie moved to Wall over 45 years ago. Marie worked as a secretary for the Local # 11 Ironworkers, Newark, NJ until her retirement. She was a member of the Rosary Society at Sacred Heart Church, Vailsburg Newark. She enjoyed spending summers in Belmar and winters in Englewood, Fl. Marie liked to swim and read and was a big NY Yankees and NY Giants fan.
Marie was predeceased by her husband Thomas Cox, son Michael Cox and brother Frank Tedesco. Surviving are her children; Kathie Vendemia and her husband Harry, Tom Cox and his wife Elena, Mark Cox, and Marianne Petrone and her husband Pete. She also leaves 12 grandchildren; Melissa, Chris, Krista, Eric, Brittany, Michaela, Cori, Nick, Tara, Tyler, Nicole, Danielle, 7 great grandchildren and a brother Emmett Tedesco and his wife Pauline.
Visiting will be Monday, from 4-8 PM at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, 10 AM at St. Rose Church, Belmar followed by burial in St. Catharine Cemetery, Wall.
