Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Veronica Downs can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Veronica Cotter Downs (Cotter)
Veronica Cotter Downs 78 of Spring Lake Hts., NJ passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Thursday, June 28, 2018. Born in Hasbrouck Hts., NJ Veronica lived in Mendham before moving to Spring Lake Hts. 30 years ago. She married Edward F. Downs in 1964 and has five children: Christine Downs McLean, Mary Ellen Downs Hagstoz, Edward F. Downs Jr., Timothy C. Downs, Daniel D. Downs. Veronica earned her master’s degree in Elementary education and taught religious education at St. Catharine Church, Spring Lake.
She was predeceased by her parents Eugene and Agnes Cotter. Veronica “Ronnie” is survived by her children, a sister Anne Marie Cotter and 11 grandchildren.
Visiting will be Monday, July 2, from 8:30 AM until 10 AM at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM at St. Catharine Church, Spring Lake. Burial in St. Catharine Cemetery, Wall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to Autism Speaks NJ, 1060 State Rd, Princeton, NJ 08540.
