Mary Margaret Fendl (nee Newbury) passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Tower Lodge Care Center, Wall Twp,NJ. Born in 1922 in New York City, she had resided in Spring Lake, NJ, and South Portland, Me. Mary had a career as an executive secretary with the Sperry Rand corporation until she married the love of her life, Edwin J Fendl, in 1956 and raised three sons. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the YMCA, a real estate agent, a painter, and an award winning and published poet. Mary attended Brookdale College, enjoyed the ocean, and driving. She endeavored to right wrongs and never shied from sharing her opinion.
She was predeceased by her husband Edwin J, her parents Henry Newbury and Virginia Newbury (nee Coyne), her brother Henry, and her sister Virginia.
Surviving are her sons Mark and his wife Robin, Richard J, and his wife Jane, and John C. and his wife Beth and their 3 sons, Matthew, John, and Lucas.
In keeping with Mary Margaret's wishes, services and burial, in Bayview Cemetery, Middletown NJ, will be private.
