Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Kenneth Johnson can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Kenneth Johnson 64, of Ocean, NJ died Saturday, August 04, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Ken lived in River Edge, NJ before moving to Ocean 40 years ago. Ken was an avid outdoorsman, with a passion for fly fishing, hiking, camping, skiing, backpacking the Appalachian Trail, and visiting national parks. He worked as a HVAC Mechanic with Sander Mechanical Service for 34 years, taught at Bergen Tech, and was an active leader with the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 70. He enjoyed spending his summers with family and friends at Tabor Lake.

Surviving are his loving wife of 40 years Susan Johnson, a son Gregory Johnson and a daughter Erin Johnson. He also leaves his parents, Arnold and Theresa Johnson, his siblings, Claire Johnson, Janet Moro, and David Johnson as well as, nieces, nephews, and cousins by the dozens.

Visiting will be Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. Funeral Service will be Thursday, 11am at First United Methodist Church Oakhurst, 103 Monmouth Rd., Oakhurst, NJ. Committal will be private. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Tabor Lake Corporation or to Boy Scout Troop 70, 103 Monmouth Rd., Oakhurst, NJ 07755.
