Margaret Elizabeth (Betty) Clark of Naples, Florida passed away peacefully on August 19, 2018.
Betty was born in Jersey City, New Jersey the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Grace Hynes, and was a graduate of St. Aloysius Academy in Jersey City and St. Michael’s School of Nursing in Newark, NJ. She married her husband, Clifford F. Clark on July 17, 1948 and raised their seven children on the Jersey Shore. Betty resumed her career as a Head Nurse at Point Pleasant Hospital; Point Pleasant, NJ during the 1970’s where she remained until her retirement in 1988 as Supervisor of Quality Assurance.
Betty, as a devout Catholic and a woman of great faith, was a daily communicant of St. William Catholic Church, Naples, Fl. and St. Catharine Church, Spring Lake, NJ. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother and a proud and caring grandmother to her seventeen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. While she enjoyed playing tennis into her 80’s and swimming and sunning on the beaches of Naples and Spring Lake, nothing made her happier than hosting her large and extended family for holidays and celebrations.
Betty is predeceased by her parents, Thomas J. and Grace Hynes, her husband of 41 years, Clifford F. Clark, a brother, Joseph T. Hynes (Dorothy), and sisters Mary Helen Behnken (Austin), Ann Marie Lawrence (William) and Grace Carlson (Richard).
She is survived by her seven children and their spouses, Michael and Erin Clark of Spring Lake Heights, NJ, Carol Clark of Naples, Fl., Cliff and Shauna Clark of Spring Lake, NJ., Patricia and William Jewett of Rumson, NJ, Kevin and Suzanne Clark of Spring Lake, NJ, Brian and Heather Clark of Colts Neck, NJ and Maryann Clark of Naples, FL. In addition she leaves her seventeen grandchildren, Michael and his wife Amy, Patrick, Sean, Caitlin, Ronan and Daegan Clark, Elise and her husband Brian Nelson, Cliff Clark, Matthew and Christopher Jewett, Micaela, Meghan and Brendan Clark, Lauren, Brian, Kerrin Leigh and Thomas Clark; as well as, four great- grandchildren, Conor and Brynn Clark, Jack and Owen Nelson and many nieces and nephews and cherished friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Catharine Church in Spring Lake, NJ. followed by entombment at St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Wall, NJ.
