Obituary for Margaret Uber (Dapolito)

Margaret Dapolito Uber, 89, formerly of Spring Lake Heights, passed into eternal life in the presence of her loving family on August 20th at Sunrise of Wall.
Margaret resided at Fairway Mews for approximately 17 years prior to re-locating at Sunrise.

“Marge” or “Nonna” as she mostly was referred to, was born, raised & lived in Paterson, NJ for approximately 69 years. A graduate of Eastside High School, Marge was an accomplished bookkeeper for local businesses and accounting firms in the Paterson area.

Marge will be remembered for a quick wit, sharp tongue, humor, superior card playing, gambling, Italian cooking, and a fierce allegiance to her Italian heritage and Paterson blue collar roots.

She was predeceased by her parents, William and Josephine Dapolito, her former husband Thomas G. Uber, and longtime companion, John (Joe) Simonelli. She is survived by her son, Thomas W. Uber and his wife Roberta, and her grandaughter Samantha L. Uber. Also survivng are many relatives and friends at the Jersey Shore and North Jersey metropolitan area.

Viewing will be at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Thursday Aug. 23rd from 4-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Catharine Church, 215 Essex Avenue, Spring Lake, on Friday Aug. 24th at 10:30am. Burial to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemtery, Totowa.
