Obituary for George R. Fleming
George R. Fleming, 82, of Ocean Twp., formerly of Hamilton Square, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at Manor by the Sea, Ocean Grove.
Mr. Fleming was born and raised in Trenton, and lived in Hamilton Square for many years, before moving to Ocean Twp. several years ago. He graduated from Trenton Catholic High School, and attended St. Joseph’s College, before graduating from Rider College. He then went on to a successful career with the State of N.J., working for various agencies as a computer analyst, before retiring many years ago. He enjoyed freshwater fishing and was a car enthusiast.
Mr. Fleming was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Margaret (Banchoff) Fleming, and by all seven of his brothers. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Catherine (Adams). Also surviving are his children, George Fleming, Jr., of Hamilton Square, Debbie and her husband Robert Mullen, of Avon, and Brian Fleming, of Ca., and his grandchildren, Bobby, Christie, Sean and Timmy Mullen, Kelly Longo, and David and Carrie Fleming. He is also survived by his Adams’ in-laws, nephews and nieces, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, from 10 AM- 12 PM, followed by a service at 12 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Fleming’s memory may be made to Manor by the Sea, 160 S. Main St., Ocean Grove, NJ 07756, or to Meridian Hospice, c/o Meridian Health Foundation, 1340 Campus Parkway, Building C, Unit 4, Neptune, NJ 07753.
