Gail Flood, 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Brandywine Reflections in Brick. Gail was born and raised in Sea Girt, NJ by her loving parents, John and Isabelle Hillman, and her grandparents, Alfred and Christine Kay. She was a graduate of Manasquan High School. Gail married the love of her life, Robert Flood, on September 9, 1962 and has resided in Point Pleasant ever since. Gail and Bob were inseparable and loved gardening, going to Atlantic City, and caring for their beloved cats. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Manasquan and had many friendships there. She also loved watching her NY Jets and NY Yankees. Surviving to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 56 years, Robert flood, her cousins, Robert and Marjorie Housen, and her nieces and nephews who will always cherish the memories of the most fun Aunt ever; Christine and John Darcy (Brick), Susan and Dave Coviello (MA), Johnathan Flood and his partner, Maria Abislaiman (MA), Robin and Jim Tougas (MA), as well as her grand-niece and nephew, Shealyn Kay and Brendan Darcy (Brick) and several great nieces and nephews in Massachusetts.
Our family wishes to extend a world of gratitude to all the nurses and caregivers at Brandywine Reflections in Brick as well as Ascend Hospice. There are not enough words to express all that you have done for Gail and our family. You are truly Angles on Earth and constantly showed Gail how much you loved her; she loved all of you too! She was well known for her saying, “Fine and dandy, sweet as candy”, and we are sure that is exactly how she is now that she is with God and her family in Heaven. You will never be forgotten Auntie Gail for your generous heart and for all the fun times we had together laughing, singing, playing sports, crabbing and fishing. You were one of a kind and we were blessed to have you in our lives. A visitation will take place on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 9-10AM at O’Brien Funeral Home, Brick. A prayer service will be conducted at the funeral home at 10AM. Entombment will follow at Atlantic View Cemetery, Manasquan.
