Obituary for Frank E. Palmer Jr.

Frank E. Palmer Jr. 75 of Allenwood, NJ, died Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Born in Mountainside, NJ, Frank raised his family in Spring Lake before moving to Allenwood. Frank proudly served in the US Army and worked in construction for over twenty years until his retirement. While he worked on many large projects throughout his career, he was most proud of his work on the Vietnam Veterans War Memorial in Holmdel.

Frank enjoyed spending time with his family. He cherished times with his wife, especially their walks by the inlet. He never missed his children’s track meets or soccer games and jumped at the chance to hunt with the kids. He was always up for a good debate and never missed the chance to share a tall tale or two. Frank also spent his time woodworking, hunting and fishing. He was a phenomenal baker and was known for his legendary cheesecakes. Frank was fond of animals and had a great love for his dogs.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 50 years, Angela S. Palmer, 3 children; Melissa Coyle and her husband Bill, Frank Palmer, Chris Palmer and his wife Melissa, a brother Glen Palmer, 5 grandchildren; Caitlyn, Declan, Paige, Sophie and Lily.

Committal will be private. O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall is in charge of arrangements, www.obrienfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Associated Humane Society, 2960 Shafto Road Tinton Falls, NJ 07753.
