Robert Thomas "Bob"  Redling  Sr.
Robert Thomas Redling Sr., 93, of Wall Township and formerly of Bayonne passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018.
Robert was born in Bayonne and raised his large loving family in Bayonne. He proudly served our country during WWII by joining the United States Marine Corps where he served as a Tech Sergeant. He had been employed as an Electrician at Exxon, Linden.
Bob resided in Bayonne until retiring to Point Pleasant in the mid 1990’s, and then in Leisure Village, Lakewood before moving to Wall Township 2 years ago.
He was an avid golfer, bowler and Yankee fan.
Bob filled the room with his kindness and love.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Dorothy (nee Kane) Redling in 1996, his parents Howard and Catherine (nee Joyce) Redling and his siblings, Howard Redling and June Doran.
Bob is survived by his devoted children and their spouses Robert and Kathie of St. Augustine, Fla,. Brian and Jennie of Suffern, NY, Kevin of Greensboro, NC, Mary Ann and Mike Stachiw of Bayonne, Peter of Greensboro, NC, Kathleen and Neil Mooney of Wall Twp., Timothy and Elizabeth of Mt. Laurel, and Judy Redling and Conor Gaynor of Morristown, and 20 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 4pm to 8pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, 10:30am at St. Catharine’s Church, 215 Essex Ave. Spring Lake. Entombment will be in St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Sea Girt.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. Donation envelopes will be provided at the funeral home at the visitation.
