Obituary for Constance Y. DeMarco (Hook)

Print
Constance Y. DeMarco, 86 passed away peacefully on September 3, 2018, surrounded by her loving friends. Connie was predeceased by her mother, Agnes Hook (nee Larcara) and father, John Hook and her husband James DeMarco.
Connie was born and raised in Kearny, NJ and moved to the Jersey Shore (Wall Twp.) in 1950. Connie was a proud alumnus of Mount St. Mary’s Academy, Watchung, NJ. A natural born leader, Connie led her school’s Drum and Bugle Corp as Majorette. Connie’s musical talents landed her a career as an entertainer and songstress. Many years were spent singing and performing in off-Broadway shows, or wherever she decided to break out in her beautiful, soprano voice. Connie owned & operated the Kearny Hotel for many years prior to retirement. In retirement, Connie’s passion was to serve others and encourage others to pray the rosary. Connie touched countless lives and is remembered for handing out guardian angel prayer cards to anyone she passed; sharing her experience, strength and hope to all that would listen. Connie was inspired by Our Lady of Fatima, which led her to send hundreds of Fatima statues globally. Her favorite author, Matthew Kelly wrote Rhythm of Life and Resisting Happiness, and Connie also mailed these books all over the globe.
Surviving are Connie’s cousins; Phyllis Hook Bruce, Liz Rhein & husband Carlos Romero, James Michael Thomas, and many more; and Connie’s closest friends, whom she called family- Sunday Paperth, Kathy Cregan, Kerry & Buddy Burgin and their daughters, Katie, Tricia, and Maggie. Many thanks to Angelina Gosein, Connie’s Home Health Aide and dear friend.
