Anne Marie H. Upton McLoughlin was born on May 22nd in Bronx, NY to parents John and Eleanor. She attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School and earned a college degree. Anne Marie moved to Emerson, NJ with her childhood sweet-heart, Richard J. Upton, “Bumps” to begin their large and loving Irish family. They relocated to Brick, NJ in 1994.

Anne Marie was devoted to her Catholic faith and was the matriarch of her family. She worked at an array of accounting firms and was a CCD teacher, Den Mother, and Rosarian. As she grew older, she was a traveler and loved playing cards with her family and friends. She is a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.

Anne Marie is survived by her adored daughter, Maryanne Akins and her husband Michael, her daughter in-law, Janet Upton and 4 magnificent grandchildren: Tara Marie, Kimberly, Joseph, and Kellyanne as well as 3-sweet great-grandchildren: Isabella, Kiera, and baby Tyler. In addition to her sister Joan Dedovich, sibling-in-laws, Eileen McLoughlin and Edward Thomas as well as many nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her loving husband, treasured son, Kevin and wonderful siblings, Eleanor Puccio, Margaret O’Meara, and cherished brother, Johnny.

Her elegance and selflessness filled the hearts of everyone around her. She will be sorely missed. May God hold her in the palm of his hand.

Viewing will be held on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 2-6 p.m. at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd., Brick. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, October 1st at 9:00 a.m. at St. Dominic’s RC Church, Brick followed by the interment at the NJ Veteran’s Cemetery, Wrightstown.
