Frank R.  Tortorello
Frank R. Tortorello, 69, of Farmingdale, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
Frank was born in Newark to the late Frank and Carmela (D’Alessio) Tortorello and raised in Kearny. He and his wife (Norma Jean McSherry) moved to Point Pleasant in 1978 and spent the next 40 years there raising their three daughters before moving to Sonata Bay in Bayville in 2016. Just recently Frank and his wife Norma moved to the Eagle Oaks Area of Farmingdale.
Frank began his career working for Kearny Electronics and Four-Star Television, in North Arlington, before establishing his own business, JFR Atlantic TV Service, in Brick, which he and his wife operated for over 31 years prior to retiring in 2016. He had served as Treasurer of the Brick Italian-American Club for many years and was an active member of the community.
Frank was an amazing, kind and intelligent man who was larger than life and took the most pride in his role as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, cousin and friend.
Frank is predeceased by his in-laws Norman J. and Martha (Cywar) McSherry. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Norma Jean (McSherry). He is also survived by their daughters, Jennifer Sabolchick, and her husband David, of Brick, Melissa Tortorello, of Farmingdale, and her fiancé, Chris Pompilio, and Elizabeth Tortorello, of Manahawkin and her fiancé Mike Recker. Also surviving are Frank’s grandchildren, Connor and Ashley Sabolchick, his brother, Alphonse Tortorello, his sister, Angela Flynn, his cousins, Maryann Rheinhardt and Tory Nowicki, and many other nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Sunday, September 30, 2018, from 2-6 P.M. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 31 Asbury Road, Farmingdale, on Monday, October 1, 2018, at 10 A.M., followed by burial at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.
