Obituary for Barbara Ann Donohue

Barbara Ann  Donohue
Barbara Ann Donohue, age 81, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018 surrounded by her
loving family. Born and raised in East Orange, Barbara moved to North Caldwell before residing in Short Hills, NJ, Mantoloking, NJ and Vero Beach, FL.

She was a 1954 graduate of Clifford Scott High School in East Orange where she was the captain of the football cheerleading squad. Barbara was an avid golfer, tennis and paddle tennis player. She was a proud member of the Canoe Brook Country Club, Bay Head Yacht Club, Spring Lake Golf Club and John’s Island Club. Among her many hobbies, Barbara’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her cherished family.

Barbara is predeceased by her parents, Sarah and Thomas J. Garvie; brothers, Raymond, Thomas and Richard Garvie.

Surviving is her loving husband of 54 years, George J. Donohue; sons, Mark and his wife Alesha Donohue, Christian and his wife Caitlin Donohue and grandchildren, Aelish, Gavin and Angus.

Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM. A funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church, Bayhead, on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
