Doris Senica, 96, of Manasquan, and formerly of Union, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018.
Mrs. Senica was born in Union to the late Joseph and Anna Cernecaro. She lived most of her life in Union until coming to Spring Lake several years ago, and more recently to Manasquan. She was employed for many years at Westinghouse Corp., in Newark, before retiring. In Union, she was an active member of Connecticut Farms Presbyterian Church, and belonged to the Church Women’s Club and Hook & Needle Club. An avid gardener, she was also a member of the Union Garden Club, was a talented handcrafter, and enjoyed crossword puzzles and Soduko.
Mrs. Senica was predeceased by her husband Louis, by her brothers, Joseph and Louis Cernecaro, her twin brother, Robert Cernecaro, her sisters and their husbands, Laura and Richard Tuite, and Marguerite and Alvin Johnson, and her nephew, Richard Kennedy. She is survived by her nieces, Lauren Kennedy, with whom she lived, and Barbara Cernecaro, and her nephews, Bruce and Robert Cernecaro, as well as other relatives and friends.
Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Friday, October 19, 2018, from 3-7 P.M. The funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at 9:30 A.M. The committal service and burial will take place at Hollywood Cemetery, Union, on Saturday at 11:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center, 575 Woodland Avenue, Madison, NJ 07940. Condolences may be sent via www.obrienfuneralhome.com.
