ALICE LYDIA (CURTIS) O'BRIEN, 94, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018,
at Brandywine Senior Living at the Gables, Brick, NJ.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Alice lived in Plymouth Meeting, PA, and Lebanon, PA, before moving to Brandywine 11 years ago. She was a graduate of Roxborough High School, Roxborough, PA.
Alice was the admissions director for Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon, PA, for 18 years before retiring in 1984. Prior to moving to Lebanon, Alice was employed at Sacred Heart Hospital in Norristown, PA, for more than 10 years as the secretary of pathology and later as the admissions administrator.
She loved her years at Brandywine with her friends, playing bingo, pokeno, going to TGIF Happy Hour and participating in many of their special events. In her earlier years she enjoyed music, dancing and traveling to many places with her husband of 64 years, Daniel R. O'Brien who predeceased her in 2007.
Surviving are her son, Daniel R. O'Brien and wife Joyce of New Market, MD; daughter, Carol L. Beebe and husband Harold, of Point Pleasant, NJ; 2 grandsons, Daniel O'Brien and wife Janet, David O'Brien and wife Laura; great-granddaughter, Madison O'Brien and great-grandson, Chandler O'Brien; sisters Shirley Cray of Lancaster, NH, Betty Ann Mignoma of Philadelphia, PA, Mary James of Deer Park, WA, brothers Earl James of Philadelphia, PA, and William James of Tetonia, ID, sister-in-law, Joan Erieg of Rehoboth Beach, DE, and many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to all of the staff at Brandywine and the nurses and aides from Grace at Home hospice for the loving care and kindness shown to Alice and her family.
