Obituary for Helen E. Yuka (Yuka)

Helen E. Yuka, 95, of Spring Lake Heights, passed away at her home on Friday, October 18, 2013.
Miss Yuka was born and raised in Jersey City, where she graduated from Dickinson High School. Her family moved to Spring Lake Heights in 1952, and she had resided there since. She enjoyed a wonderful career as a civilian employee of the Army, working as a Secretary to several Generals at Fort Monmouth. Her work took her on assignments to Germany and France, as well as to Vietnam during the War. In retirement, she enjoyed spending time and traveling with her nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Miss Yuka was predeceased by her parents, James and Lucy (Koslowski) Yuka, as well as by her brother, John S. Yuka, in 1981, and her dear sister, Sophie L. Murphy, in 2002. She is survived by her nieces and their husbands, Joanne and David Glaser, Manasquan, and ToniJean and Richard Matson, Shark River Hills, and her nephews and their wives, James and Eileen Yuka, Point Pleasant, and Joseph and Eileen Yuka, Spring Lake Heights. She is also survived by many great-nephews and nieces, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall, on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, from 10-11 A.M., followed by a funeral service at 11 A.M. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
