Irene was first female to be appointed as an officer in the Summit and Elizabeth Trust Company. She was responsible for the development and deployment of their ATM banking systems. Irene was a former resident of Linden, before moving to Lavallette in the 1960s. She had a natural talent for painting, and enjoyed the quality time spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by her dear siblings, Henry, and Sister Emmeline, and by her beloved husband of 55 years, Thaddeus “Ted” Zaleski in 2003.
She is survived by her two sons, Ronald and Theodore, and his wife Theresa. Irene had four grandchildren, Katherine, Theresa Anne, Theodore, and Thomas of whom she was proud. She especially enjoyed taking them to the beach, and creating with Pop-Pop special Sunday breakfasts. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, 751 Main Avenue, Bay Head. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
