Karen L.  Edmonds (Orluski)
Karen L Edmonds, 67, of Allenwood, NJ passed away on November 23, 2016. Karen was born in North Bergen, NJ to Andrew and Francis Orluski on June 24th, 1949. She went to school at St. Peters College and Received her Master’s in Education at Seton Hall. She Married Russell S. Edmonds Jr. on May 16th, 1980 in Lawrenceville, NJ. She started her career at PSE&G, working on her teaching degree at night. She then went on to become in a teacher in North Bergen, with the bulk of her distinguished 33-year teaching career at Howell Middle Schools. She retired a year and a half ago. During her retirement; she enjoyed connecting with old friends, shopping, and going to the beach. Her passion was her family and friends and seeing others happy. She grew up dancing at June Taylor’s school of dance which was a famous NYC ballerina studio. She danced in the Nutcracker at the New York’s 1964 World’s Fair. As much as she loved seeing her family happy; she loved cooking for her family her famous Italian dishes such as lasagna, meatballs, and stuffing with Italian sausage. Thanksgiving was always a favorite time for her to get together with her family and decorate table settings, such as a perfect hostess would do. Her comforting nature and infectious smile will be missed.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Francis Orluski, of Secaucus, NJ, Aunt Gloria Motta of North Bergen, in-laws Dr. Russell Edmonds and Ruth Smith, both of Princeton, NJ, and her beloved Westie, Phoebe Ellen.

Karen is survived by her loving husband Russ, and two children, Brett Edmonds and wife Kelly Edmonds of Collingswood, NJ and Heather Edmonds and fiancé Joseph Segreto III of Wall, NJ

Our mother was the rock of our family. She gave so much and took so little and brightened up everyone’s life that knew her. We will be lost without you but will always remember you and smile. We are who we are because of you and will keep you in our hearts forever.

Visiting will be Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd. Wall. Funeral Service and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family asks to donate to Karen’s favorite charity, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
