Obituary for Michael Patrick Jacobs Sr.

Michael Patrick  Jacobs Sr.
Michael Patrick Jacobs, Sr., 71, of Brick, NJ passed away peacefully at home on March 9, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Long Branch in 1945, he was raised in Asbury Park before moving to Brick. He was a graduate of Brick High School and proudly served in the US Coast Guard from 1965-1969. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Rutgers University in 1972 and went on to be a successful accountant, most recently for SunTrust Bank prior to his retirement.

He was an avid sports fan loyal to the NY Giants and NY Yankees, and also enjoyed NASCAR. He had a love for cooking, Frank Sinatra music and Humphrey Bogart movies. He was a member and communicant of The Church of Epiphany in Brick, NJ.

Mr. Jacobs was predeceased by his wife Maria and his parents John & Dorothy Jacobs. He is survived by his sons: Michael Jr. and his wife Colleen of Brick, NJ; William and his wife Amanda of Brick, NJ; and Kevin and his wife Sandy of Toms River, NJ; his five granddaughters: Jeannie, Brianna, Abbey, Bella and Roxanne; and his siblings: John Jacobs and his wife, Francine; Paul Jacobs and Dee; Peter Jacobs and his wife Cheryl, all of Brick, NJ; and Jeanne Welsh of Toms River, NJ; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4pm-8pm on WEDNESDAY, March 14th at O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 HIGHWAY 35, WALL, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on THURSDAY, March 15th at The Church of Epiphany, 615 Thiele Road, Brick NJ. Final entombment will be held privately at White Haven Memorial Park, Pittsford, NY. Donations may be made to the ASPCA in honor of his memory.
