Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Carmine Caporaso can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Carmine Caporaso

Carmine Caporaso, 63, of Howell tragically passed away suddenly in his home on Friday, April 21, 2017. Mr. Caporaso proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War from 1971 to 1973. He was born in Newark and raised in Middletown, where he met his soulmate and best friend Teresa. They were married and started their family in Red Bank before moving to Howell 20 years ago. Carmine was a man that left a mark on everyone he had ever met. He was a gentle, caring, kind, sensitive and understanding man. No one could ever ask for a better husband, father, brother or friend.
Mr. Caporaso was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Grace Caporaso; brothers-in-law, Joseph Walpole and Joseph Savi. Surviving is his wife of 29 years, Teresa A. (Walpole) Caporaso; son, John J. Caporaso of Howell; daughters, Kristina T. Caporaso of Point Pleasant and Sara M. Caporaso of Howell; brothers, Albert Caporaso and his wife, Rosemary of Northport, FL, Philip Caporaso and his wife, Mary Ellen of Hazlet, Anthony Caporaso and his wife, Deb of Las Vegas, NV Stephen Caporaso and his wife, Kimberly of Middletown; sisters, Antoinette Savi of Las Vegas, NV and Marie Nastasi and her husband, Nicholas of Waretown; sister-in-law, Jean Caporaso of Florida; brothers-in-law, Robert Walpole of Hoboken, Michael Walpole and his wife, Kathleen of Astoria, NY, Charlie Walpole and Timothy Walpole both of Middletown, many, many nieces and nephews; as well as his little dog buddy, Bentley.
A memorial visitation will be held from 1-3pm on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service and military honors will happen at 3pm in the funeral home. Final Interment will be private. Donations may be made in his name to the Disabled American Veterans Charity, dav.org
