Obituary for Marylou Beaulieu

Marylou  Beaulieu
Marylou Beaulieu, 79, of Spring Lake Heights, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017, at her home.

Mrs. Beaulieu (nee Burns) was born and raised on Staten Island. She also lived in East Windsor and Spring Lake before moving to Fairway Mews, Spring Lake Heights, 20 years ago. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Hill Academy, Staten Island, and St. Clare’s Hospital School of Nursing, where she also served as a Clinical Nursing Instructor. She also served as a Charge Nurse at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Staten Island, and at the Rossmoor Adult Community, Jamesburg. Most recently, she did private-duty nursing. Mrs. Beaulieu managed to balance her career with raising her family, and her interests, which included gardening, golf, and bridge. She was a member of the Belmar Fishing Club, the Spring Lake Golf Club, the Bel-Aire Babes, the Fairway Mews 9-Holers, and enjoyed playing bridge on Tuesday nights, with the same partners for 40 years.

Mrs. Beaulieu is survived by her beloved husband, John A. Beaulieu. Also surviving are her children and their spouses, Christine and Stephen Burns, Spring Lake, Eileen and Kevin Mahoney, Little Silver, MaryClare and Michael Malady, Haddonfield, and Matthew and Lisa Beaulieu, Oceanport. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Stephen, Jr., Thomas, Katherine and Caroline Burns, Gavin and Declan Mahoney, Jack, Conor and Aidan Malady, and Dylan McBride. Mrs. Beaulieu is also survived by her siblings and their spouses, Patricia Kane, Spring Lake Heights, Joseph and Beverly Burns, Va., James and Elizabeth Burns, Staten Island, Timothy and Colleen Burns, Lake Shawnee, NJ, her sister-in-law, Margaret Burns, Staten Island, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Martin Kane.

Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Wednesday, May 3rd, from 7-9 PM, and on Thursday, May 4th, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catharine’s Church, Spring Lake, on Friday, May 5th, at 10:30 AM. Private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Beaulieu’s memory may be made to Visiting Nurse Association Hospice Program, 1100 Wayside Road, Tinton Falls, NJ 07712.
