Carolyn Bever Brown, 86, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017 surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Kearny, she had resided in Spring Lake before retiring to Lakewood. Carolyn was a proud and devoted nurse, having graduated Christ Hospital Nursing School in 1952. She retired her post at the CECOM Building in Ft. Monmouth in 1993, where she had worked since 1972.
Carolyn was predeceased by her husband, the former Spring Lake Borough Councilman Frederick L. Brown Jr. in 1968, as well as her daughter Valerie Brown Fatigante, her parents Joseph & Martha Bever, and her sister Phyllis Bever May.
She is survived by her loving daughters Gayle Brown DeFillippo of Wall and Martha L. Brown of Spring Lake. She also leaves her four grandchildren – Michael DeFillippo, Lisa DeFillippo-Cole, Sara DeFillippo, and Thomas Fatigante, Jr; as well as many loving relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hudson County Community College/RN Program, 870 Bergen Avenue, Jersey City, NJ 07306. Please indicate that the donations are in memory of Carolyn Bever Brown, Graduate, Christ Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1952.
