Richard Andrew Kravchak, 80, of Howell, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 27, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Mildred Kravchak. Surviving him are his wife of 45 years Alice Kravchak, his children Richard Lewis Kravchak and Andrew Richard Kravchak, his granddaughter Allyson Ann Kravchak, his brothers John Kravchak and Frank Kravchak, his sister Patricia Grau, her husband Matthew Grau, Richard Lewis Kravchak’s mother Leilani Girdner, and his much beloved dog Lady. Richard Andrew Kravchak lived a long and meaningful life, and will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, and neighbors. His mastery of the practical skills of county living, understanding of gardening and animals, and his love of and patience with children will continue to be an inspiration to everyone who has been lucky enough to cross paths with “Richie.” The Kravchak family invites Richie’s friends and neighbors to a celebration of his life on September 15, 2017 at O’Brien Funeral Home located at 505 Burnt Tavern Rd. in Brick, N.J. There will be an opportunity to visit with the Kravchak family from 9-11 a.m., with a memorial service starting at 11:00 a.m. While the family would appreciate and treasure any flowers given in Richie’s memory, we know that RIchie would greatly welcome and appreciate any donations made in his name to the Broken Promises Animal Sanctuary, located at 57 Maxim Road in Howell, N.J. 07731
