Robert S.  McGowan
Robert S. McGowan, Sr., 65, of Brick passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick. Mr. McGowan was a crane operator for many years at the Ameristeel Corporation in Raritan. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1972-1974. Mr. McGowan was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Keansburg before moving to Brick 38 years ago. He was predeceased by his wife, Gesine (Pasch) McGowan in 2013; and by his parents, Charles and Joan McGowan. Surviving are his son, Robert S. McGowan, Jr. of Brick; daughter, Stephanie Cataldo and her husband, Michael of Brick; brother, James McGowan of Philadelphia, PA; sisters, Geraldine Wallace of Boulder, CO, Kathy Petrovich of Boulder, CO and Patricia Anastasi of Boston, MA; sister-in-law, Margaret of Brick; and four grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Cataldo and Julia and Elise McGowan. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 9:30am on Friday, November 3, 2017 at The Church of Saint Catherine Laboure, 110 Bray Avenue, North Middletown, NJ 07748. Final interment and military honors will follow Friday 1pm at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
