Barbara Nelson  DeCresce
Barbara Nelson DeCresce, 85, formerly of Boca Raton, FL passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.
Barbara was a graduate of Rahway High School where she was a varsity letter volleyball player. After having her 3 boys, she began to bowl and play tennis and within the next few years she filled the basement shelves with trophies and plaques. Her real passion was ballet and dance. She studied and taught dance at the Arthur Murray and Fred Astaire Dance Studios in New York City. She loved to travel Europe and many cruise destinations. She also played golf into her 80's. She had a knack for style and fashion and would always dress to impress.

Born and raised in Rahway she lived in Leonia for 20 years where she raised her three children and enjoyed the summers in Allenhurst, NJ. She then lived in beautiful Boca Raton, FL for 25 years.

She was predeceased by her parents, George and Evelyn Nelson; and by her brother, Richard “Dickie” Nelson. Surviving are her sons, Arnold G. D’Ambrosa and his wife, Roxane of Point Pleasant, David D’Ambrosa of Point Pleasant and Christopher G. DeCresce and his wife, Kristy of Brielle; as well as her four grandchildren, Toniann and Donzi D’Ambrosa and Charlotte and Everett DeCresce. She also leaves her former husbands, Arnold D’Ambrosa of Point Pleasant and Ellis N. DeCresce of Jersey City.
Visiting will be on Monday, January 29, 2018 from 4-8pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be held 10:30am on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Foundation.
