Obituary for Leonard W Dimmick

Leonard W. Dimmick, age 83, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at his home in Brick. Born in Newark, Leonard lived in Bloomfield, West Caldwell and Beachwood before moving to Brick where he has resided for the past 19 years.

Mr. Dimmick proudly served in the United States Army.

Leonard worked for many years as a Telephone Engineer for New Jersey Bell and Verizon in Irvington and Toms River before his retirement in 1991. He was a member of the Telephone Company Pioneers in Toms River.

Leonard had enjoyed camping, golfing, summers at the pool and spending time with his loving family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren at the Jersey Shore. He loved to watch golf, Rutgers’s football, the NY Giants and NY Yankees. Leonard was also an active member of St. Martha’s Church in Point Pleasant.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Janet A. Dimmick (Biglin); his children, Linda Bessemer and her husband Allen, Leonard T. Dimmick and his wife Linda, Cynthia Testa and her husband Robert and Dawn Finley and her husband John; his brothers David and William Dimmick; his nine grandchildren, Amanda and Paul Testa, Emily and Mary Bessemer, John and Jacqueline Dimmick and Erin, Johnny and Colin Finley; his three greatgrandchildren, Addyson, Patrick and Serenity.

Viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd., Brick. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Martha’s RC Church, Point Pleasant followed by the interment at the NJ Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown.
