Obituary for Marie Dibble (Fahey)

Marie Dibble (Fahey)
On July 28, 2018, Marie Dibble, loving mother of six, passed away.

Marie was born on March 2, 1929 in North Arlington, NJ to Mary and James Fahey. Her childhood was filled with the love of her parents and her five brothers, Father John M SJ, James, Thomas, Bert and Joseph.

Marie moved to Middletown in 1957 to raise her children. She was very active with St Mary’s RC Church and School. The family then moved to Avon-By-The-Sea in 1968, where she spent her childhood summers and loved returning with her family to enjoy the beach and the town.

She was predeceased by her son James and is survived by William and Pam of New Providence, John and Colleen of West Orange, Brian of Williamsburg, VA, Patricia and Bradford McKenzie of Brielle and Robert and Kathleen of Spring Lake.

Marie was blessed with the love and admiration of eight grandchildren and their spouses - John (Brooks), Matthew (Heather), Colleen (Brian), Katie (Gerard), Kate (Rich), Blair, Brendan and Kara as well as four great grandchildren - Nolan, Cecelia, Connor and Saylor. She adored them all.

Marie spent many years as an office manager for a doctor's office and St Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia. In her retirement, she made many great friends as an active member of Trendsetters, Women of Irish Heritage and as a devoted volunteer at the Visiting Nurse Association Thrift Shop.

She had a flair for fashion and was a talented hostess. She proudly hosted large family gatherings where everyone was welcome. Her home was always open to the many friends of her children. She was always the “well dressed lady” who entered the room with a beautiful smile.

Marie received loving care from the staff at Sunnyside Manor in Wall and the dedicated and compassionate members of the Visiting Nurse Association. Her family is forever grateful to all of them.

Friends and family may visit at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Thursday, August 2, 2018, from 5-8 PM. Marie will be remembered at a funeral Mass at St Elizabeth Church in Avon-By-The-Sea on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Wall. In lieu of flowers, please remember Marie with a donation to the Visiting Nurse Association, 23 Main Street, Holmdel, NJ 07733. Condolences may be sent via www.obrienfuneralhome.com.
