Obituary for John E. Scherzer

John E. Scherzer 84, of Wall, NJ died Monday, November 20, 2017 . Born and raised in Bloomfield, NJ, John was a graduate of Bloomfield High School. John lived in Glen Ridge until his retirement in 1993 when he moved to Wall Township. He spent winters in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. John had a very successful career culminating as the Director of Modernization for Otis Elevator in NYC. He was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for fishing.

John is survived by Geraldine Bonfante Scherzer, his beloved wife of 61 years, his sons Eric and his wife Kristina, Paul and his wife Laura, Kevin and his wife Karla, Kyle and his wife Karla, and his 7 grandchildren; Christopher, Mark, Scott, Daniela, Brody, Ella and Sophia.

Visiting will be Friday, November 24, from 3-7 pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. A funeral service will be offered at 3pm. Committal will be private. Repast will immediately follow.
